The Challenge
Apprenticeship Carolina needed a comprehensive resource that could make the Registered Apprenticeship process easier to understand for several very different audiences.
Employers, community organizations, prospective apprentices, and other stakeholders each interact with apprenticeship programs differently. The challenge was to bring the information they needed into one resource while clearly explaining how to participate in or support U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Programs.
The finished piece also needed to be approachable and easy to navigate without oversimplifying a workforce development process that can involve complex requirements and terminology.
The Solution
Team EMILY developed a comprehensive apprenticeship playbook designed to turn complex program information into a clear, user-friendly resource.
The process began with a thorough review of Apprenticeship Carolina's existing materials and research into similar apprenticeship resources. From there, Team EMILY organized and developed the content around the needs of the playbook's different audiences.
Our team provided both copywriting and design, creating a resource that combined practical information with a clear visual structure while remaining consistent with Apprenticeship Carolina's established brand.
The completed playbook provided stakeholders with a centralized resource for understanding Registered Apprenticeship Programs and the different ways they can participate in South Carolina's apprenticeship system.
The Impact
Apprenticeship Carolina gained a professionally written and designed resource that makes complex apprenticeship information easier to understand, navigate, and share.
Rather than requiring employers, prospective apprentices, and community partners to piece together information from multiple sources, the playbook gives Apprenticeship Carolina a single, accessible tool for education and outreach.
The final resource supports the organization's broader mission of expanding participation in Registered Adult and Youth Apprenticeships and Pre-Apprenticeship programs while helping strengthen South Carolina's workforce pipeline.
